Description

Archimedes is considered to be one of the greatest mathematicians and inventors. His most famous theorem deals with the weight of a body immersed in water. It is known after him as the “Archimedes’ Principle”. It states that a body immersed in a liquid will be subjected to an upward force (buoyancy) equal in magnitude to the weight of the fluid it displaces. The aim of this experiment is to demonstrate this concept.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Student explore concept of liquid and volume and learn about properties of liquid.
  2. Awareness about why some things float in water and others do not.
  3. Correlation between theory and practical becomes easier
