DESCRIPTION

The air foil shape and size on the wings, decides the kind of lift that will be created in an aircraft. A lot of testing has to be done using wind tunnels to arrive at designs which can safely optimise the lift in an aircraft under all flying conditions. We will try to demonstrate what kind of shapes help in converting wind energy to useful work.

Learning Outcomes

  1. This experiment is used in teach the basics about air pressure and air speed
  2. Children understand about the effect of shapes of air foils in providing lift to the flying planes
  3. Correlation between theory and practical becomes easier
